Cambridge Youth Go 25th Anniversary Tournament, featuring the British Small Board Championship and the UK Go Challenge Finals

Sunday 13 October at Storey’s Field Centre, Eddington, Cambridge CB3 1AA

Enter the tournament here!

Registration from 09:45 to 10:00. Prizegiving at 16:15. We advise bringing a packed lunch as there will not be a long lunch break.

The tournament will be a 13x13 Go tournament, open to both junior players and adults. Stronger junior players can compete for UK Go Challenge age band titles and all strong players can compete to be the British Small Board Champion. These titles will be determined by even games (with double elimination for the British Small Board title). Other games may be played with handicaps. The time limit will be 12 minutes for the game plus 3 seconds extra per move.

As we are celebrating 25 years of the Cambridge Junior Chess & Go Club, there will be lots of free cake!

Entry fees: £10 for adults (£8 if entering before the end of Fri 4 October), £5 for children/students (£4 if entering before the end of Fri 4 October), add £3 (or £2 for students/juniors) if not a BGA member or a member of a BGA-affiliated school/junior club (e.g. Cambridge Junior Chess & Go Club members do not need to pay this).

There are splendid trophies (to keep for one year, you can find their pictures among the ones on the BGA Trophies page) for the winner of the British Small Board and for the best school and best primary school with 3 or more players in the UK Go Challenge.

We hope there will be a prize fund of around £400 for the whole event. The winners of the British Small Board and the UK Go Challenge are each guaranteed at least £50. We are grateful for the support of the Castledine Barnes Trust, the Cambridge Junior Chess & Go Club, the Cambridge Youth Go Fund and an anonymous donor.

For more information e-mail us or text 07503 898934. The best way to enter is via the link in the BGA website calendar.

The venue is close to Madingley park & ride site, there are also direct buses from Cambridge station and city centre
